Hengist’s brother. Death in 455 would put him well before the start of King
Arthur’s reign.

leader with his brother Horsa of the first Saxon invasions of

The later kings of
The names Hengist
and Horsa mean Gelding and Horse and it may be that these were titles derived
from a cult of horsemanship.
Horsa was killed at
the battle of Aegelsthrep in Kent (possibly Aylesford)
